Anthropic Launches OpenTelemetry Tracing Support in Public Beta
Claude Platform can export traces following OpenTelemetry gen_ai conventions from the Messages API, Managed Agents, and Claude SDKs.
- Default spans export metadata including duration, status, token counts, model, and tool names.
- A "full content" setting allows exporting complete prompts, responses, tool inputs, and tool results.
- Export destinations are configured inside the Claude Console or directly in Claude SDKs.
Developers using Claude can pipe structured execution metrics and payload data directly into existing observability stacks without writing custom instrumentation.
