# Perplexity releases Portable Computer for AMD Ryzen AI Max processors

The feature is available in the Perplexity app for Windows to all Consumer and Enterprise Pro and Max subscribers.

- It runs the agent harness and model locally on-device to work with local files and connected apps like Slack, Gmail, and Google Drive
- Running tasks entirely locally keeps data on device and does not consume Computer credits
- The agent asks user permission whenever it requires assistance from a cloud model
- Users can initiate immediate tasks or schedule recurring background workflows

## Why it matters

Pro and Max subscribers on supported AMD hardware can run autonomous AI workflows across local files and connected cloud services without burning usage credits or sending data off-device.
